Florian Picasso enlists Australian star VASSY for ‘Cracked Wall’

Florian Picasso continues his blistering run of form with a surefire smash on Spinnin’ Records—his first release on the mega-label after four on Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings, two on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records, two on Laidback Luke’s Mixmash Records and one apiece with Blasterjaxx’s Maxximize Records and Doorn Records.

Cracked Wall is powered by a stunning vocal by Australian sensation VASSY. Thumping bass and glassy, delayed synth twinkles kickstart the track before we hear her mellifluous delivery glide into the breakdown, with subtle reverb and delay automation shrouding the vocal in a hypnotic feel. The track showcases Florian’s unique sound with high harmonies that fill out the stereo field as muted piano chords and plucked guitar sounds raise the tension. The explosive drop reveals a powerful and euphoric electro house groove punctuated by rapid edits and a chopped-up vocal refrain that’s truly cutting edge. It’s massive track that harnesses a whole lot of energy and drive without feeling too overwhelming, all with a really strong pop song at its heart.

VASSY’s previous successes include a Billboard Dance Chart #1 with her debut single We Are Young—making history as the first Australian to ever do so with their first release—and it was featured in the mega-hit movie Frozen. She also provided the vocal for the massive Bad with David Guetta and Showtek, which was certified 7x Double Platinum, and collaborated with Tiësto on Secrets (with KSHMR) which hit No. 1 in 20 countries and topped the Beatport Charts. Tiësto also produced her latest single Nothing To Lose and released it on his label Musical Freedom Records.

Cracked Wall serves as a very worthy follow up to Picasso’s collab with Martin Garrix, Make Up Your Mind, which has been wreaking having on dancefloors the world over of late. December will see him give his latest tracks a good go at his massive NYE show (Dec 31) in Vietnam, where he will play for over 100.000 people.
