Danny Avila continues to show his diverse skillset and ability to conquer both the airwaves and the dancefloors on gorgeous news crossover anthem High. Working with upcoming vocalist Haliene on this new record, he’s crafted a seriously classy track, which keen-eared fans will have heard on his aftermovie videos for Nervo Nation at Ushuaïa and Parookaville this summer.
The Radio Mix is a bright and breezy affair, led by lush, delayed synth chords an 808 breakbeat kick/bass rhythm and pitched-up vocal cuts. Haliene’s slick vocal moves from honeyed, mellow tones to rousing ballad-esque emotion, the lyrics recounting hedonistic passion as gentle piano chords and big snare builds drive us towards the joyous chorus. Its accomplished feel is yet another demonstration of Avila’s maturity beyond his years.
Of course, he needed a more floor-friendly version to rock his sets with, and that’s where his Club Mix comes in. Rasping synths and rising pitch bleeps inject some electro flavour in the proceedings, while those beautiful chords and the breakbeat are still drafted in for the verse/build sections. He keeps the tempo at a deliciously steady pace, and brings in a heavy monotone bass hook for the drop to deliver some really pounding energy.
Haliene is fast rising up the ranks of the dance music scene with her stunning vocal contributions. Most recently featuring on Breathe Carolina & Jay Cosmic’s See The Sky, she’s best known for featuring on Adam K & Slander’s massive Breathe. Her style makes for the perfect accompaniment to Avila’s energetic production style.
Apart from spending time in the studio, Danny has been keeping busy with securing himself a pivotal role in Europe’s biggest ever dj contest, NYDJAY by New Yorker. The competition will see him perform at eleven events throughout the entirety of Europe all the while looking for the next big thing in dance music.
