Since signing to Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats as a young prodigy in 2010, Arty has been one of this seminal label’s key artists. Now in his seventh year of releasing music with them, he returns with the stellar Patriots.
Premiered on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy radio show, Patriots slowly comes alive with a filtered percussion loop and rhythmic vocal snippets leading us up to the first break. Trademark classy Arty piano chords set the tone as the layers begin to build, and quivering lead line filters up into focus. The drop unleashes the enormous main riff: a gargantuan, pulsing flurry of big chords that play a triumphant, fist-pumping melody. The second break chops up the riff with a breakbeat-style kick pattern before slamming us back down into the unbridled euphoria. Out April 1 via Spotify and April 15 everywhere else, it’s another smash for the Russian producer. Overflowing with feel good energy and disco swagger, expect to hear this polished production throughout the summer season, with support from the likes of Above & Beyond, Audien and Andrew Bayer.
Since releasing his debut album Glorious at the tail end of last year, Arty has continued to treat his fans to new music, like his stunning rework of Axwell’s Waiting For So Long on Valentine’s Day and a track on the League Of Legends soundtrack compilation.
His busy Miami week saw him play back-to-back with Audien at Above & Beyond’s party, at No Sugar Added, Electric For Life and Axtone and for Martin Garrix’s new STMPD RCRDS label launch party. The end of April will see him play a tour in Australia.
